You know, I'm glad as everyone else that we're still here, and that another enemy got crossed off our to do list, I really am.  But this kind of stuff happens like once a month lately, so I'm not sure we can all breathe easy.

All I'm trying to say is don't jinx this.

I hope I didn't just get myself taken off the guest list.

[Fuck.  Just when she thought that, 'Hey since in the future GAF is doing alright and the human race is going to be A-OK in the long run that means things are gonna be alright!' something like this happens.]

[The priceless artifacts and historical sites, the lives, the homes, the damage to the planet's ecology this will have, and her god damn 'husband' played a part in it.  No... it was worse ...  he was a student of her's, and in a way, she felt guilty in that she somehow didn't impart some better wisdom or guidance for him as a friend or as a teacher.]

[And to add that special fuck you cherry on top, once he became a war criminal the parts of his financial affairs that she did have a hand in were about to fall into her lap.]

[Alex has quite literally broken into Ennil's bar while she's gone, because damn it she needs a drink.  In the almost dark.]

[Alex is sitting down in a common's room, flipping through pictures on her laptop. Scans of hand written notes, historical looking documents... pictures of her now in the past coveted black knight, Hildebrand. The original; as far as she was concerned Hildebrand Kaiser was not HIldebrand. It was great in its own way, but it was in no way a mechanical knight. If anything she thought of it more as Athena in diamond nanorod form.]

[She does her work sullenly, despite some of the pictures of Hildebrand being rather silly (Hildebrand dancing in a kilt, Hildebrand holding a giant ... novelty skull as if it Hamlet, etc). She keeps on hand in her pocket, fabric shifting in vague suggestion of the motions of her fingers.]

Hey Alex, I need you to make something for me.

HEY EVERYONE ELSE.  I'll try not to take too much your time unnecessarily with my ramblings.  I decided on a whim that we should make a time capsule.  If you have any stuff you want to put in it, just bring it by.  If you have any questions, feel free.

Now for my rambling, really, I think time capsules are fascinating; little preserved bits of what people thought were interesting or important.  It may be odd to think, but we're in a tumultuous piece of history right now.  Yes, history, someday people are going to have our era recorded and taught in classes; I find it kind of thrilling to think about about, myself.

Anyway, really guys, bring me some stuff for it.  Who knows what in our lives today may interest the world of tomorrow.

[In a hangar bay Alex is walking up and down the length of Hildebrand new, jet black blade. She has various tools (chalk, dusters, crowbars, etc.) and leather bound books around.]

It's definitely the real deal ... [She flips through pages and writes some notes]

But why is it a sword? I mean, it's a more practical weapon than a horn.

[She steps up onto the blade and examines a series of grooves along it; they'd be spiraling almost if it wasn't a two sided, flat surface. She runs a finger along one--]

Tsk, these things are sharp. [She licks a cut and goes for her first aid kit; it's a small cut, but she'll take care of it first.]

[And so she can be found in the hangar, examining this new 'Pure Maidensteed's Spiral Horn of Assured Victory' sword. Why is it a sword!? Sword =/= horn ... ! ]

You are cordially invited to a martial and marital event this Sunday: a reenactment of the Battle of Sekigahara*, followed by the wedding of Alexadria Stein-Alexander and Julius Alexander-Stein. Transportation to the festivities in historic, scenic Sekigahara will be provided, as will historically appropriate mock-equipment.

Formal wear is optional.

Please RSVP.

*((OoC: Sekigahara is generally considered to be the battle that ended the Sengoku Era and began the Tokugawa Shogunate/Edo Era. Watch the video I linked above, it's pretty cool.))

((More OoC: Feel free to respond ICly and/or use this as a planning post, I'll probably throw up a log for the wedding reception, though if people don't mind, I'll probalby let the reenactment happen off screen with a short summary, since it makes a pretty poor log (except perhaps to log out some of the antics that happen within it.) ))

[Finally recovered from her injuries from the last time Hildebrand sortied, Alex has been making lost time today in the gym doing various work: lifting weights, doing pulls and sit ups, running for endurance, push ups, various things to build strength and constitution, but of special note, she's got herself up against a punching bag as well, putting brutal flurries of punches and  kicks into it.  Feel free to find her during any exercises.]

[Filtered to Julius (YES, SHE BOTHERED TO FILTER IT)]
Hey, Alex.  I've been thinking about something, and we have to talk about it.

Do any of you guys know anything about this military company, GAF? They contacted me about having Hildebrand at the Military Technology Expo as a historical piece and ... well, hey husband, guess what? They said they want to build Hildebrand Kaiser. Can you believe that?

For some reference Hildebrand Kaiser is something Julius drafted some designs for, a modernized, overly expensive Hildebrand (which is already a priceless artifact...)

But to get back on topic, have any of you heard of this company before? Apparently they've been around for a few years, but there's not that much information on them. I can't even find what GAF stands for. They're really unnotable for any company that would have the capital to propose building a giant robot made out of diamond nanorods.

Well, except their mission statement. That's pretty notable. I kid you not, their mission statement is, "To see to it that someone punches out Cthulu."

Which is sad to me, because Cthulhu has to two Hs in it.

[Alex was really sad about how the parthenon was finally destroyed a few months back in the whole Junius 7 affair.  So what was she up to now?  She was in the hangar, building a sculpture of the Parthenon, to ridiculous levels of detail.]

It's body was unyielding, and but I managed to throw that black titan out of alignment.  I have to assume it really was Hildebrand's brother.

... There's no extent to which I can express my relief that, even though your units were damaged, each and every one of you is still alright.  I... I'm sorry.  I froze.  I was afraid.  I can't really change what happened now.  All I can do is... do my best to see that it doesn't happen again.
